As Risk Data Engineer you will be a part of a small cross-functional team that owns a business critical Risk Application Platform including a data warehouse, a model platform and a reporting layer. Our Risk Analysis Team interfaces with many teams in the Risk Department as well as many other departments in Axpo (IT, Controlling, Treasury, Front Office). Thus there are many opportunities to take responsibility to extend, re-design and re-structure existing solutions as well as design, built and implement new solutions from ground up.
In this role, you will be responsible for applications, data models, data flows, data transformations and front-end reports which are deployed and operated on a Risk owned Application Platform. Our Risk Analysis Team builds, develops, designs, maintains and operates this Risk Application Platform to support and productionalize the business requirements of the Risk Department in a coordinated, aligned and holistic way.

What you will do- Interact with other Risk teams located in Baden and in the Axpo subsidiaries around the globe to understand, challenge, assess, prioritize and agree on their business requirements
- Interact with internal IT departments and external IT providers to explain and prioritize our business requirements and to challenge, align and agree on appropriate solutions for Risk
- Develop, extend, enhance and maintain a larger SQL framework
- Build, structure and model the design and development of a large Python framework, which is in its early stage
- Build and maintain programs, data models, data flows and workflow tasks to import, process, transform, store and export data using T-SQL, Python and C#
- Support, enhance and maintain a large PowerBI code project to import, transform, process, visualize and thus provide cashflow and liquidity information to senior managers and Board members
- Develop, extend, enhance and maintain a comprehensive and proprietary workflow management tool written in .NET and C#
- Contribute to the requirements, design and architecture of a new PowerBI solution in the Azure cloud, and support the migration of an existing PowerBI stack from on-premise into the new cloud solution
What you bring & who you are
- You bring at least 3 years of experience in a similar position as well as extensive experience with T-SQL and Python
- Experience in Azure (DevOps, Pipelines, Data Factory), Software Engineering, Software Architecture and migrations from On-Premise to Cloud environment is desirable
- Previous experience in Risk Management, Energy Trading or Banking is desirable
- Experience in C# & .NET or Power BI stack (DAX, M and MDX) is an advantage
- You are eager to extend your knowledge and skills across risk management and the above languages, technologies, cloud environments, and software tools
- You are able to adapt and focus in a highly flexible and dynamic environment with a strong emphasis on time-to-market
- You have an analytical, structured and innovative approach on operational tasks as well as software design, development and deployment
- You are fluent in English, German is considered an advantage
